The Brazil Human Rights Fund Foundation acts as a philanthropic institution, committed to the promotion of human rights throughout Brazil. As a part of our efforts to maintain these activities, we send letters with bank bills to solicit voluntary donations. Those donations are essential for us to continue supporting projects that defend social justice and fundamental rights in the country. Below, we answer the most frequent questions about our direct mail:

  1. Why has the Brazil Human Rights Fund Foundation sent me a letter/direct mail with a bank bill?

Our objective is to seek society’s support to continue funding projects that promote human rights. The bill’s payment is fully spontaneous and voluntary, and your contribution makes a significant difference to our activities. The Brazil Fund Foundation destinies all raised resources to support initiatives that promote social justice and fundamental rights in Brazil.

  1. This direct mail (letter) with a bank bill isn’t a charge, it is a request for donation.

The bank bill isn’t a charge and there isn’t any consequence if it’s not paid. This is just a request for donation to support our cause. Should you not wish to contribute, you may simply disregard the request.

  1. Why has the Brazil Fund Foundation issued a bank bill with my name/my company’s name?

According to determination by FEBRABAN, all bank bills, including donation ones, must be registered to the recipient’s CPF or CNPJ to ensure security and transparency. This is a donation bank bill and its payment is not mandatory, with no burden to the recipient should it not be paid.

  1. I’m a user of the direct debit option in my bank and a launching in my account by the Brazil Fund Foundation company just showed up. What is that?

The direct debit is just a warning that the bank bill has been generated. The payment is only done with your authorization and, should you not wish to pay, you may disregard the warning. The Brazil Fund Foundation has no access to your bank information.

  1. Who is the emitter of bank bills for the Brazil Human Rights Fund Foundation?

The Itaú Bank is the emitter of donation bank bills for the Brazil Fund Foundation. When opting to pay digitally, the beneficiary will be identified as the foundation itself.

  1. Why does the Brazil Fund Foundation treat my or my company’s data?

We treat your data to raise funds that help us maintain our activities of human rights promotion, in conformity with the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and based in our legitimate interest.

  1. How did the Brazil Fund Foundation obtain access to my or my company’s data?

The data was obtained through commercial partners and public databases, and is treated with discretion and security. Should you wish to interrupt usage of your data, contact us and we’ll respect your decision.

  1. How do you protect my data?

We adopt rigorous security measures, includind firewall systems, antivirus and strong passwords, to protect your data in conformity with the LGPD.

  1. Is the bank bill programmed with automatic debit?

No, the bill’s payment is totally optional and the value may be adjusted according to your preference.

  1. If I don’t pay the bank bill that appeared in my direct debit or that was received through the mail, can my or my company’s name be made negative?

No. This bank bill is an invitation for donation and doesn’t incur in protests or in the inclusion of your name in credit protection services should it not be paid.

  1. Can I only pay this amount?

No. The amount suggested in the bank bill is just a suggestion. You can adjust the value at the moment of payment if you wish.

  1. Can I only donate this way?

No. If you prefer, you can donate through our site www.fundobrasil.org.br or contact us through phone or WhatsApp (11) 3256-0621.

  1. Can I only pay up until this date?

No. The bank bill can be paid in up to 59 days after expiration, with no fees or fines. After that term, it will be canceled automatically.

  1. Does this donation really go to the Brazil Fund Foundation?

Yes, the donation is credited directly to the Foundation’s account up to 48h after payment.

  1. How will that resource be used?

The resources are used to finance projects that promote human rights throughout the country, beyond covering the Foundation’s operational costs.

  1. If I make this payment, will I be able to write it off my Income Tax?

No, this modality of donation doesn’t allow for Income Tax write-offs. Deductible donations must follow specific criteria.

  1. I don’t want to receive it anymore.

Send your full name, CPF or CNPJ to [email protected] to be removed from the contact list. Don’t worry, non-payment of the bank bull will not incur additional charges.
