Objetivos e público alvo
The “Black Youth in the Future of Labor” project aims to promote the qualified insertion of the Black population, especially the youth of Pará and Amazonas, in the socio-bioeconomics sector. The initiative encompasses the training of Black youths of the Prosseguir Program and incidence on partnered employer institutions, such as the UN Global Compact, MOVER, Ethos Institute and GIFE, as well as unions, international organizations and city governments, contributing to a just and sustainable transition in the labor world.
Contexto
Structural racism is one of the main factors of inequality in Brazil, directly impacting Black youth, who represent 61% of young people in the country. Beyond the alarming violence – with one black youth being murdered every 23 minutes – this population faces greater hurdles in the access to the job market, with an unemployment rate almost twice that of white youths. In face of this scenario, it is fundamental to strengthen the assurance of rights and full development to Black youth, promoting its qualified insertion in the labor world through strategies of academic permanence and leadership.
