Contexto
Baixada Fluminense is a region marked by high rates of violence, social inequalities, and land conflicts. Human rights defenders face constant threats, including political persecutions, police brutality, attacks from religious leaders, and intimidation from militias and extermination groups. RPIDDH-BF arises as a collective response to this reality, seeking to create a protection ecosystem that ensures the security and continuity of activists’ work in the region.
Sobre a Organização
The Comprehensive Protection Network for Human Rights Defenders of Baixada Fluminense was founded in August 2023, through a training course in comprehensive protection promoted by the Grita Baixada Forum (FGB). The network takes part in organizations such as the Nova Iguaçu Human Rights Center (CDHNI) and the Land Pastoral Commission (CPT), as well as counting with the support of national networks of human rights defense.
