Objetivos e público alvo
The project aims to structure and strengthen the Movement of Workers Without Rights (MTSD), promoting the organization, mobilization, and political training of popular economy workers. As well as mobilizing and training community leaders, youths, women, Black and LGBTQIA+ people, who are historically marginalized groups and that comprise a big part of the workforce in informal economy.
Contexto
The logic of entrepreneurship as an individual solution hinders collective construction and the fight for rights, while political polarization feeds the disbelief in institutions. Moreover, economic crises, the dismantling of public policies and extreme climate events increase the vulnerability of these workers. However, this scenario also opens opportunities to strengthen solidarity actions, revindications for social justice, and the inclusion of ecologic transition in the workers’ agenda.
Sobre a Organização
The Movement of Workers Without Rights (MTSD) was founded in 2022 with the purpose of articulating informal economy workers throughout the country. The movement acts in the organization, mobilization, and political training of these workers, seeking to build a collective force capable of demanding and achieving labor rights. The MTSD also promotes experiences of solidary economics and cooperativism, as well as politically advocating to influence public policies that guarantee decent work and social protection for all workers, independent of formal employment ties.
