Objetivos e público alvo
The project aims to strengthen the defense of rights for people living with HIV/AIDS (PVHA) through actions of advocacy, political training and spreading of information. The priority target groups are the PVHA, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and social movements that act in the fight against the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the state of São Paulo.
Contexto
Despite advancements to the treatment of HIV/AIDS, the stigma and discrimination remain big challenges, negatively impacting the mental health and adhesion to treatment of PVHA. According to UNAIDS, 64% of the PVHA have suffered some form of discrimination, and 19% have lost employment due to the diagnosis. FOAESP, with 28 years of activity, seeks to fight these violations through actions of advocacy, political training and coordination with public officers and representatives. The requested resources will be used in activities of advocacy, training for NGOs and PVHA, and in the production of informative materials that fight the stigma and promote human rights.
