A Brazil Human Rights Fund tradition since 2009 for the announcement of calls for proposals, “Musical Dialogues in Human Rights”, held in partnership with Sesc São Paulo, this year featured a performance by actress and vocalist Letícia Sabatella, one of the foundation’s advisors.

Letícia performed her spectacle, “Caravana Tonteria”, and paid homage to the Fund’s work. The presentation was also highlighted by the participation of a group of child refugees from the Coração Jolie Choir, a musicial project by IKMR in partnership with the Centro Universitário Belas Artes de São Paulo and UN Refugee Agency.

Sesc São Paulo Director Danilo Miranda opened with remarks about his pleasure in participating in the announcement of the calls with the presence on stage of representatives of projects supported by the Fund.

“A quality life presupposes the universality of rights”, he said to the human rights defender.

Fund President Jorge Eduardo Durão was appluaded when he spoke about the recent threats to human rights. He cited the example of repression of student protests in São Paulo and the murder of five black youth in Costa Barros, on Rio de Janeiro’s northern side.

He also delivered a special message to the activists who were present. “Know that you inspire us all every day to continue.”
